Learn more about our firm.

His Excellency Kamal Dajani
Portrait of a pioneer. Our Founder.

The late Kamal Dajani, the prominent lawyer, was born in Jerusalem in 1921. Young Kamal was greatly influenced by the legislative evolution during the British Mandate. At the age of 24, he believed in the powerful potential of civil service and was already recognized as one of influential lawyers of the Palestinian Government.

The late Kamal completed his studies in law at the Jerusalem Institute in 1945. In 1950, along with the declaration of the annex of the West bank to Jordan, His Excellency was appointed to head the Nablus Court of First Instance - deputy.  In 1951, he was appointed to head the Jerusalem Court of First Instance, Nablus Court of First Instance and then after the Amman Court of First Instance.

During the period between 1958 and 1962, the late Kamal lead the Jerusalem Court of Appeals until, in January 1962, he was appointed Minister of Interior of Jordan as part of the Government of the late Wasfi Al Tal.  In 1963, His Excellency left Government to establish his law firm.  In 1978, His Excellency was appointed to become a member of the National Consultation Council, a position he held until 1984.  The National Consultation Council was formed to bridge the legislative gap in Jordan following the dissolution of parliament in 1978.  He was also a member of the Amman Municipality Council.  His Excellency the late Kamal Dajani died in 1999.  He was a leading force in the field, a visionary and a pioneer who helped shape and develop the legal profession in Palestine, Jordan and the region alike.

A firm was born.
In 1963, Kamal established Dajani and Associates to lend his expertise and advise clients from public and private sector on different legal, legislative and litigation issues.  As a legal authority, he was invited to draft the constitution of the United Arab Emirates within the then-formed legal committee. The firm's earliest contracts came from local clients and then it expanded its reach to advise leading international firms operating in Jordan.
